Quick Tip: How to remove the Office 365 Store tile for all users
Recently you may have noticed the Office 365 store tile appear in your app window when logging into the portal. As an admin we may not want this to show when users login. If your anything like me you want the users experience to be as easy as possibleĀ also the use of third party apps and services may be restricted in your business so hiding unnecessary items is a must.
Login to the admin portal then scroll down to Service Settings then click User Purchasing then turn off the ‘Display Office 365 App Store Tile’ option.
Within a few minutes it will disappear from the menu of all users in the tenant.

Is it possible to remove the Power BI app from the tile as well? Our admin claims it may not be possible.

Hi Brian,
Not that I have seen so far, the app launcher needs its own central management page and hopefully that will come soon. What you could try is disabling the feature for all users which don’t need it. Log in as admin, and go to users then select a test user and edit the users product licenses. Expand the license which is assigned to the user and disable PowerBI. I’ve not tried it yet because I don’t have it on an active subscription but please share if it does š
