Microsoft Future Decoded: Business Day
Today I attended Microsoft’s Future Decoded event at the ExCel exhibition centre in London and it was brilliant.
Virtual Reality headsets, Surface Hub, Surface Book and two cocktail making robots to mention just a few of the toys to play with on offer.
All exhibitions and conferences need to have some fun thrown in but there were a lot of great speeches and talks constantly throughout the day. There was barely enough time to grab a cheeky burger for fear of missing something interesting. Unfortunately there was too much for one person to take in so I focused on sessions that interested me and ones I thought would inspire ideas to use in the business.
The main focus throughout the day was on productivity and embracing Microsoft’s mobile and cloud first technologies namely Office 365 and Azure. Don’t tune out just yet, because if we really ‘Delve’ into these technologies we can perhaps ‘Sway’ a few of our clients and users to utilise them and be more productive 😉
During the Keynotes Microsoft showed off their mission statement to make us all achieve more and be more productive. Apparently the UK’s productivity levels are the worst they have been in years.
So lets start learning more of what Office 365 and Azure can offer and lets see how those tools can let our clients get the most value from their 365 and Azure subscriptions.
Also some good news for those businesses that still refuse to move into the cloud because there is no UK mainland datacentre, well that’s all about to change! Starting in 2016 things will be happening but no exact details or dates were given 🙁
There really was a lot of great stuff today but luckily I’m back there tomorrow attending the technical day. Here are a few extra pictures to get a taste of the experience.
